The road to war provides a comprehensive overview of current, doctrinally
approved tank training plans. The intent is to familiarize the user with armor-related
training plans and includes links to tips, techniques and procedure that can be used to
train and test tank gunnery or tactical skills. This guide is designed for use with FM
17-12-series manuals and the technical manuals or other resource materials for each device.This
guide was developed as a ready reference for tank commanders, platoon sergeants, platoon
leaders, master gunners, S3s, and the chain of command of armor units. From this manual,
the user can determine methods that will best support the type of planned gunnery/tactical
training at home station.
